The Christchurch Magdalen Trust (formerly known as the Hospital of St Mary Magdalen) has been around for more than 800 years. In the middle ages the Charity was the leper hospital for Christchurch situated on the recreation ground in Barrack Road. Thankfully leprosy has now gone! However, the Charity continues as an independent trust helping Christchurch residents who are in need or infirm.
