Applications for Organisations

  1. A grant can be considered whether or not you are a registered charity.
  2. Residence Qualification of the Beneficiaries

The beneficiary(ies) of the grant must meet one of the following residence criteria:

  • Resident in Christchurch, permanently or temporarily.
    (Temporary accommodation could, for example, be a safe house or hostel, or a result of placement by BCP or the probation service, or any other similar reason).
  • Resident just outside Christchurch but access Christchurch services because it is impracticable to access similar services elsewhere as a result or poor transport links or some other overriding reason.
  • People habitually living in Christchurch but have no fixed residence. For example, the homeless.
  • People who have moved away from Christchurch when receiving help, but it would harm those person(s) health or wellbeing if they had to access such help elsewhere or it was not available.

(“Christchurch” means Highcliffe, Walkford, Mudeford, Stanpit, Somerford, Purewell, Burton, Christchurch Town, Fairmile, Jumpers, and Hurn – most, but not all, of the BH23 area.)

  1. Your Organisation

The Charity recognises that the area of benefit, make-up and size of organisations differs greatly from a small informal group helping others to a national charity. For this reason the application form below is quite straightforward. If the Charity felt you qualify for help, then it would seek any further information required and would discuss with you what is reasonable and how best to ensure that the spirit of the residence and “need” or “infirmity” qualifications are met. If your organisation provides direct help or services only to Christchurch residents, then it may well be quite straightforward. However, whilst not exhaustive, the following are examples of situations where a bespoke arrangement may be necessary:

  • Your organisation covers an area larger than Christchurch or undertakes work some of which may qualify for help but some may not;
  • Your organisation helps those in need or provides services or aids to help with infirmity or relieve suffering but does not assess the financial circumstances of individual beneficiaries.
  • You are not a registered charity.
